Adsense Help - How to Explain the Google Adsense Program to Others

in: adsense

What are Themed Ad Units. Simple. They are ads that have special colors and graphics to celebrate the season! For instance, you might see your ad with orange print with a picture of a black cat for Halloween. How about red print with a green mistletoe for Christmas?

The Themed Ad Units are specifically tailored to users in the appropriate locations as determined by their IP address. For instance, a user in the United States might see colors and graphics appropriate to the Fourth of July while users everywhere could see colors and graphics for New Years Day.

Again, it’s your choice and your page. You can turn Themed Ad Units on or off by yourself. Just log in to your account, go to the My Account tab. On the Account Settings page, scroll down to the Ad Type Preferences section and click Edit. You can now enable or disable the Themed Ad Units. Click save changes and Voila! Your selection will apply to all your Google Adsense Ads.

We’re not talking about strangers here. For the strangers that visit your site, your content will have to do all the talking for you. But for the people in your daily life, the ones you want to click on your referral button, the ones you want to read and comment on your blog; these are the ones you want to be able to enlighten about the Google Adsense program.

First, excitement breeds excitement. Get excited about your new venture and others will too. Learn everything you can about the Google Adsense program, not only will this increase your earnings, but you’ll be better equipped to explain the mechanics of the program to others.

Show them the money. There’s nothing like a little proof to make a believer out of someone. You don’t have to wait until you’re making thousands per month, although that’s a healthy goal. But even a small deposit in your piggy bank is enough to intrigue most people. Can’t you just count those referrals now?

Ebay Web Site - What to Sell on eBay and Where to Get It

in: eBay

What to Sell on eBay and Where to Get It

If you want to build a profitable–and consistent–eBay business, you need to start with strategic product sourcing. What to Sell on eBay and Where to Get It reveals the same techniques used by the most successful e-commerce entrepreneurs and by major retail chains to determine what products will sell well and which suppliers will deliver those products for the best price.

Learn to generate product ideas, research your markets, diversify your product line, and build a direct supply of inventory. Using the proven strategies in this book, you’ll be able to find the products that will fuel your business for the long term and skyrocket your sales!

Customer Review: Another $$ Black Hole
Don’t bother, folks…it’s another one of those “how to do it” books that offer a compendium of vague principles and “ideas” that you can find all over the web in free articles, a million other books (some of which you probably already own), with some plugs for the authors’ sites thrown in. There’s absolutely nothing more here.

(As an aside, one of the authors’ sites violates several very basic and well-known marketing principles, so we might question her expertise, and it gives a “suite number” in the mailing address, which appears to be a mailbox rental place when you Google the street address. If so, “box number” would be a bit more straight-up, no?)

…and take the good reviews with a grain of salt. I suspect many were written by folks with an agenda of one kind or another. I don’t find any agendas in the negative reviews, however, as none of them that I’ve read are selling an alternative. I wish they were!

Customer Review: Oh Thank you!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write these reviews, I was about to purchase ! Thanks for saving my money!!

Ebay Auction - eBay Income: How Anyone of Any Age, Location, and/or Background Can Build a Highly Profitable Online Business with eBay

in: eBay

eBay Income: How Anyone of Any Age, Location, and/or Background Can Build a Highly Profitable Online Business with eBay
eBay has changed the way products and services are purchased all over the world. Daily over 1.5 million online customers and providers log on to bid and sell virtually anything that can be bought or purchased. In 2006 eBay sellers are estimated to post $22 billion in sales. There are businesses earning $1 million a year selling products on eBay today. It is estimated that more than half a million people make full-time incomes just with their eBay business. eBay also allows you to run a business that requires no advertising costs. This expertly written new book will show you how to take advantage of this business phenomenon and arm you with the proper knowledge and insider secrets. Filled with actual examples and antidotes from real eBay entrepreneurs, this book is as engaging as it is informational. eBay is a level playing field?it doesn?t matter how old you are, what nationality or income level, whether you own a business now or not, what your background is, or where you are located. Start making money on eBay today! The book starts with a complete overview of how eBay works. Then you are guided through the whole process of creating the auction and auction strategies, photography, writing copy, text and formatting, managing auctions, shipping, collecting payments, registering, About Me page, sources for merchandise, multiple sales, programming tricks, PayPal, accounting, creating marketing, merchandising, managing e-mail lists, advertising plans, taxes and sales tax, best time to list items and for how long, sniping programs, international customers, opening a storefront, electronic commerce, buy-it now pricing, keywords, Google marketing, and eBay secrets; everything you will ever need to get started making money on eBay!

Customer Review: Good info, but outdated
I actually like this book because it does exactly what is claimed, which is to describe methods for making money on ebay. However, the reason I say it is outdated is because, let’s face it, all the easy money has already been made. As in anything, you need to be one of the front runners to realize the most potential. If you comparison shop on ebay you will see that the competition is fierce, and that unless you are getting your salable items for next to nothing you will not make any real money.

Which brings me to point number two. The book talks of buying items at wholesale and selling on ebay at a profit. Realistically, most people cannot buy at wholesale unless they have a brick and mortar storefront and a verifiable tax id. There are many companies claiming to be wholesalers available to anyone but my research has shown that they are actually just middlemen. THEY get to buy at actual wholesale, and then they mark up the price to sell to you. So you will not get the items cheaply enough to sell at much of a profit.

This is not a negative review, just a realistic one. Yes, you can make some money on ebay using this book, but the big players have already made most of the money available. After factoring in your cash outlay to purchase items, ebay’s fees, and the fees charged by PayPal, you may find - as I have - that it requires a lot of effort and time to make only a few dollars.

Customer Review: eBay beginners
Great book for those who are serious about starting to sell on ebay with the hopes of attaining a successful income and business. This book brought up alot of good points and stresses the importance of starting it up as an official business, from the get go. I have not finished reading it yet, but it is a great resource for things to expect, easier ways of doing things, and also some of the problems and how to deal with them (or avoid them!).

For those who are already business savvy, this might be too “beginner level” for them. For me, it is perfect.
